Somewhere
in the Middle
Truth is black,
Truth is white,
Truth is wrong,
Truth is right.
Truth is clear as a mountain stream,
Truth is a riddle.
Truth is where we find it,
Somewhere in the middle.
I want to paint in black and white,
But I’m seeing shades of gray.
I want to find tomorrow,
But I’m dealing mostly with yesterday.
I want to sing for Peace and Love,
I want to right what’s wrong.
I want to find what is true,
Though I knew it all along:
Truth is black
Truth is white,
Truth is wrong,
Truth is right.
Truth is clear as a mountain stream,
Truth is a riddle.
Truth is where we find it,
Somewhere in the middle.
I want to solve problems
For my neighbors, for the world.
But as I solve one of them
Others are unfurled.
I want to stand for Peace and Love,
But my words all come out wrong.
I want to find what is real,
Though I knew it all along:
Truth is black
Truth is white,
Truth is wrong,
Truth is right.
Truth is clear as a mountain stream,
Truth is a riddle.
Truth is where we find it,
Somewhere in the middle.
Truth is black
Truth is white,
Truth is wrong,
Truth is right.
Truth is clear as a mountain stream,
Truth is a riddle.
Truth is where we find it,
Somewhere in the middle.
