My Human Mother

[Dedicated to Squeekie, who died from
poisonous Chinese cat food at the age of 20-1/2]

My human mother,
She’s okay.
She feeds me, she pets me,
Sometimes we play.
My human mother,
I’ve trained her well.
Let’s see what we’ll have for dinner today.

Did she get out the cat food yet?
Waiting so long is really a drag
Where is my dinner?
Where is the can?
Is it good food?
I don’t give a darn.
So on your mark,
Set – go – and get!
Did she get out the cat food yet?

My human mother,
She’s okay.
She feeds me, she pets me,
Sometimes we play
My human mother,
I’ve trained her well.
Let’s see what she brought home for me today.

Did she bring me a toy to play?
I tore up the one she bought yesterday.
I tore up the mouse,
The doll with long hair.
I even tore up
Her favorite chair.
So on your mark,
Set – go – hurray!
I think she brought me a toy to play.

My human mother,
She’s okay.
She feeds me, she pets me,
Sometimes we play.
My human mother,
I’ve trained her well.
Let’s see what she’ll do for me today.

Will she get rid of that dreadful dog?
He eats my food, he’s really a hog.
He whines all day, his manners are raw.
I’d like to give him a piece of my claw.
So on your mark,
Run – don’t walk.
Mom, please get rid of that dreadful dog.

Hey, hey, hey
That’s what I say
Come home a bit sooner, Mom
It’s time to play.
