Hope
Road
I
like to take a turn on the edge of this town.
I find a place there that never lets me down.
It’s a place where I find friends, a place that’s right for me.
When my day ends, it’s where I like to be – it’s –
Hope Road – That’s where you’ll
find me – on –
Hope Road – Follow the sign.
Between the highway and the
township line - is – Hope Road.
I pass abandoned houses, mansions for the rich,
A couple of churches, a railroad and a mall,
Houses for everyone, a school for the kids –
And I say to myself: This place has
it all – it’s –
Hope Road – That’s where you’ll
find me – on –
Hope Road – Follow the sign
Between the highway and the
township line - is – Hope Road.
Sometimes I take a different turn to some other place around town,
But when I return, I know why I stick around – on –
Hope Road – That’s where you’ll
find me – on –
Hope Road – Follow the sign
Between the highway and the
township line - is – Hope Road.
Hope Road, that’s where I want to be
– on –
Hope Road – maybe I’ll see you there –
Somewhere in the middle between heaven and despair is –
Hope Road – meet me there.
